ZENIT Bank is a party to the largest European settlement and clearing system CLEARSTREAM BANKING S.A. (formerly CEDEL Bank) and allows the clients to transact securities which are not allowed for circulation in Russia (Eurobonds, American and Global depository receipts) in accordance with international standards, including guaranteeing transactions and delivering securities under a completed transaction. The bank's commission for transactions in the CLEARSTREAM BANKING S.A. clearing system for ZENIT Bank's clients is currently much lower than that offered by other Russian participants of international settlement and clearing systems.
Recognizing the importance of information support for stock market transactions, the depository of ZENIT Bank issues a monthly electronic bulletin on its site which is based on information from news service agencies, borrowing company documents and registrars.
ZENIT Bank depository constantly improves the depository accounting technology and seeks to provide more depository services and expand its product line. As of April 1, 2001, the market value of securities accounted for on the depo accounts of ZENIT Bank depository exceeded 5 billion rubles.
The depository provides its services on the basis of a license of a professional securities market participant for depository activity №177-03434-000100 issued by the Federal Commission for the Securities Market on December 4, 2000.
The depository offers services as a specialized depository of investment funds, mutual funds and non-government pension funds on the basis of a license for specialized depository activity of investment funds and mutual funds №22-000-0-00018 issued by the Federal Commission for the Securities Market on December 6, 2000.
In addition to the traditional service based on paper-copy media, the ZENIT Bank depository offers its clients the service of making depository orders and receiving responses through the S.W.I.F.T. system, the Client-Bank electronic settlement system, telex, and encoded fax communications. The use of above means of communications will be based on additional agreements with the Bank setting forth the parties rights and obligations in exchanging communications messages.
